Enfield Marathon Man, 61 running his 7th London Marathon for deafblind children and adults charity
Herbie Williams, 61, is Enfield’s own Marathon Man. Herbie is running his 7th London Marathon raising money for the deafblind children and adults charity SENSE.
Actually, this will Herbie’s tenth run and the 7th time for SENSE charity. I’ve seen Herbie on his regular runs along Green Lanes, either to and from his self-employed car body repairs business. Occasionally I join him en route, (where he kindly slows to a walk for a few minutes) so we can chat about his progress, the inevitable strains, injuries and niggles which he has to contend with. Herbie shrugs these off, as he loves supporting the charity for people with deaf blindness and the running challenge. His two goals for this year are to better his last year’s injury stricken time (now that he is running fit this year) and to raise £1500. Donations are steadily rolling in from local people, friends, family and business, so please help meet and exceed Herbie’s target.
