Backround

The project has been running since 1996 has has achieved so much for Enfield’s Deaf community both nationally and locally, it is a unique service in that staff can communicate in BSL (British Sign Language) and are qualified to give help and advice at point of contact.

Any cut to this specialist service may result in the deaf person struggling to even get access to services and receiving the help that they need, this includes the police, health, HRMC,DWP and the local authority. The demand for the service is increasing not decreasing due to new clients arriving and the present climate of budget and welfare benefit cuts.
